About Us
Mandy Cox first started Ponderosa Texas in 2013, selling vintage items on Etsy and in a local antique store. In 2017, she and her husband, Danny designed and built a custom home with a local contractor, incorporating antique pieces and creative solutions into the build to create a collected and cozy space. They were budget conscious during the process and quickly learned that creativity can trump cash when the creative solution turns out better than the over-priced alternative. This experience helped mold their understanding of the building process and solidified Mandy’s love for construction and design. In 2018, she began taking side projects helping friends and new clients redecorate and remodel their homes.
Soon after, she rebranded to Casa de Ponderosa, incorporating “house” into the brand name, while keeping the original feel of the Ponderosa logo. While they both have full time jobs that keep them very busy, she takes on a few client projects each year on the side, to keeping her design skills sharp. Maybe they will start flipping houses in retirement?! A girl can dream…
Right now, you can follow them on Instagram, as they remodel their house, work through some client projects and take on a 1940s Craftsman, one project and one weekend at a time! @casadeponderosa

“Not only did Mandy hold my hand and create a kitchen, living, and dining room that we are so proud of, she also allowed both my husband and I to express our design style throughout our new space.”
